Welcome to Illawarra Archers
News Notes
updated 2/2/2026
many thanks to our carpet suppliers - Simmons Flooring Xtra Wollongong, B&D Carpets Galore Fairy Meadow, and Warilla Carpet Court. A great bunch of people that have been helping us out for several years now!
What a great turnout for the working bee on Sunday!! There was a big crew working repacking the range target butts, with many of the butts returned to good working order. And 3 crews working on target faces. We are definitely re-stocked on our 122cm and 80cm targets, and several used field targets were glued to cardboard backs to be used for the upcoming Urban Field and for general practice. Thanks to Kelly and Mark for the BBQ. All round great effort!!!
It was a very busy weekend, with 45 shooters turning out for the Field QRE on Saturday. Great to see such a large number of shooters, both Illawarriors and from other clubs nearby. Some great scores were achieved, but the heat probably got to more than a few of us during the round. Thanks as always to Yingzhi and our members for setting a great course, and to our event Judges.
Get your calendars out and set aside Mar 21-22 for the 2026 State Field Championship here.
And, there will be another warmup before that with a Field QRE here on Mar 7.
The Saturday Competition Shoot will be a Beechboro Round. register in Archers Diary
The Thursday Twilight Shoot will be an Urban Field (field targets on the target range butts) round - register in Archers Diary
Jake Kaminski's Backyard Competition is still on. Your score sheet can be submitted up to February 16.
This is an indoor competition where archers shoot 'anywhere' and then submit their score sheets to Jake's website.
The cost is AUD$23 (USD$15), and you can only submit one score sheet per bow type. The good part is one lucky archer is going to win a complete set of top-of-the-line X10 arrows with all the bits (this includes us in Australia!!).
If you do decide to take part, you need to take a photo of your target face and submit it along with your official score sheet.
